This years Animal Advocacy Camp will be coming to Victoria, B.C. and is being organized by the Vancouver Island Vegan Association (VIVA) and Liberation B.C. The Animal Protection Party of Canada is helping sponsor the event to promote animal advocacy in Canada. It takes places on April 14th at the Camosun College Gibson Auditorium.
Animal Advocacy Camp is a conference that hosts talks from animal advocates from all areas of work including activism and academics. It was started by Liberation B.C. and they decided to work with VIVA to bring the event to Victoria, B.C. for the first time this year. This will be the fourth event in this series to take place.
Speakers for the event include Maneesha Deckha, an animal law professor from the University of Victoria; Charu Chandrasekera, from the Canadian Centre for Alternatives to Animal Methods; and Lisa Kemmerer, a professor at Montana State University, author, and philosopher-activist; as well as several other prominent activists and academics. Jordan Reichert of the Animal Protection Party of Canada will be hosting the event.
The APPC is proud to be a part of sponsoring events in the community, such as animal advocacy conferences and veg fests which promote the protection of animals in our community and improvement of their status in society.
