Canada’s Cruelty-Free Cosmetics Act (Bill S-214) cleared the Senate in June 2018. It passed unanimously and is widely supported by all stakeholders. The Conservatives have had carriage of the Bill since then but have failed to bring it forward for First Reading in the House of Commons. With Parliament recessing in June, we have only a few short months to make this bill law.
Please act now. Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer needs to hear that you support this Bill and want his party to introduce it into the House of Commons before it is too late.
If you can, please call and send a letter to Mr. Scheer, in your own words.

Dear Mr. Scheer,
Bill S-214, the Cruelty-Free Cosmetics Act, cleared the Senate in June 2018 and is widely supported by all stakeholders, the cosmetic industry, including multinational corporations such as Unilever, and citizens across Canada.
Yet this uncontroversial and Conservative-led legislation has been left to languish for months without even being introduced for first reading in the House of Commons.
With the summer recess on the horizon, there are only three months left to make this bill law.
I therefore strongly urge you to make Bill S-214 a Conservative priority and introduce it at the first available opportunity or direct the current sponsor, Ms Marilyn Gladu, to release the bill to another MP to allow it to move forward.
Cruelty-free cosmetics are becoming the global mainstream. Thirty-nine major markets have already enacted comparable testing and/or sales restrictions. Multinational companies such as Unilever and Proctor & Gamble are advancing similar measures including in Canada.
Please let me know if you will ensure that S-214 is a Conservative priority and will be tabled when the House resumes in April.
