CETA and FARM ANIMAL PROTECTION
Improving Canada’s appalling agricultural animal welfare standards and reforming our anti-democratic electoral system so it can be used to better protect animals and the environment have, so far, resisted the ‘usual approaches.’ Animal protection groups have tried for 30 years to improve the farm animal transport regulations with no results. In response, we’ve developed two new unique strategies to successfully address them.
They involve the Senate of Canada in Ottawa and the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France. Animal Alliance and the Animal Protection Party are making them the two new major fronts in our campaign to protect Canada’s animals and environment.
What You Can Do:
- Join us! This movement needs everyone’s voices demanding that our society does better, for the animals.
- Send a message to the Honourable Lawrence MacAulay. Tell him that his ministry is responsible for raising Canada’s standards for farm animal protection, and that it is not a race to the bottom. Phone calls and handwritten letters are best but you may also use our sign-on-MacAulay by clicking here. Letters can be mailed postage-free.
